NGanes is the Romans antique Tacapa. A maritime oasis and relies on the traffic of its port, a rather active agriculture and Ghannouche industrial compound. Located at 405 kilometers south of Tunis, in the bottom of the Gulf of Gabes, bearing its name and representing an important ornithological reserve. Gabes enjoys the status of being at the same time a maritime port and the single oasis in Tunisia bordering the sea.

Gabes does not rely only on the oasis. The Sidi Boulbab Mosque also deserves visits. It represents the most ancient monument. The city saint leader used to be the Prophet’s barber.
